The GreenBand-iT 115vac Power Source

    The GreenBand-it Power Source (GBPS) is a 115vac power source specially designed to provide enough power to run a typical band for a 4 hour gig…in the middle of nowhere. It provides a clean regulated and filtered sine wave for your sensitive audio equipment. It uses battery power that can be charged from solar panels having no negative impact on the environment.

   Typically generators are used for this purpose, but they emit carbon exhaust, can sometimes be hard to start, require a pickup truck to transport, require you to carry tanks of gasoline, and are loud when running which means you must also have long extension cords to keep the generator away from your party.

   The GBPS is a modular design, using keyed plugs that can be connected by anyone. Spare fuses, batteries or inverters can be included with rentals for critical events to ensure operation in case of catastrophic failure or mishandling, and can be replaced quickly with simple tools.

    The GBPS will be available for individual amps or for the whole band. AC power level needed (inverter watts) is determined by how much noise you want to make, and DC power needed (battery amp hours) is determined by how long you want to make noise.

    The small packages will be designed to run a sinlge amplifier so that you can take your favorite amp out to the woods for that campfire gig. They will be sized for 100 and 300 watts of peak power and designed to run up to 4 hours.  

    An inverter package rated for 1500watts with 3000w surge is sufficient for typical 4 piece country or jazz bands, while 2500 watts with 5000w surge may be needed to satisfy those metal heads that like it cranked to 11. (Just be aware your neighbors may be calling the po po)

    Systems will be a modular design that will allow additional battery packs to be added for longer run times.

    These systems make great back up power for your home in case you lose power due to a storm (or when the grid goes down during armagedon) and can be designed in nice looking furniture packages.

      The original GeenBand-iT prototype. This prototype will supply 1500w peak or 350w of power for a band for 3 hours, or keep your TV, computer and fridge running overnight. The inverter module is on top, with a power switch and standard 115vac outlets. A true sinewave inverter and special patent pending Greenband it precharge & filtering circuits are used to keep the noise out of sensitive audio equipment.

   Others sell cheap emergency power using an inexpensive MSW inverter. Using a MSW or Modified Square Wave inverter causes audible noise in audio systems and streaking or ghosting in video systems. They'll tell you if there is noise you bought a cheap audio or video system, but I've not found many audio amps or TVs that aren't affected by the MSW inverter. They also can decrease the life of internal capacitors and can actually cause damage immediately in some systems. Which systems you ask? Buy a MSW inverter system and find out the hard way!

This 3000 watt portable unit can be taken apart, placed in my Honda civic and transported to a gig down by the river, out in the field or on the beach. It will run a full rock & roll band (yes a full 5 piece crankin band) for a 4 hour gig.

Of course it can be charged from the 115v outlet if the suns not shining. Custom built chassis & Dolley are included.
